Ja Marr’s Career

Ja Marr is currently District Manager for BARD, a leading medical device company, where he oversees the western region’s sales activities. Prior to joining BARD Ja Marr enjoyed a 13 year successful career at Allergan Pharmaceuticals, one of the most respected pharmaceutical companies in the world.

A former Student Body President and graduate of Whittier College, Ja Marr received his degree in Business with an emphasis in marketing. While in college, Ja Marr applied for and was accepted into the prestigious INROADS internship program where he would later be named Alumnus of the Year and Supervisor of the Year.

Through the INROADS program, Ja Marr was selected as Allergan’s first summer intern. Upon graduation, Allergan offered Ja Marr a full time sales position. He would find himself in the Los Angeles area, which was the lowest ranked territory in the country at the time. Over the course of two and a half years, he was able to move the territory from last in the country to first and received the Salesperson of the Year award in 1998.

During the course of the next eight years Ja Marr would rise to even loftier heights as he developed a new selling system for Allergan and trained all of Allergan’s 300 person sales force and oversaw the launch for Allergan’s most successful product launch in company history. He finished his career at Allergan by transforming a last placed sales team into the #1 sales team in the nation and being promoted to Regional Sales Director, becoming the youngest person to ever hold that position at Allergan.
